Under the direction of the Food Bank Coordinator, the part-time position of Housing & Basic Needs Task Force Coordinator includes working towards addressing the housing  and basic needs in the community as both a Task Force Coordinator and a Support Worker.

Duties:

  • Work both on-site and in the community.
  • Report directly to the Food Bank Coordinator.
  • As the Task Force Coordinator, work towards the development and coordination of a community-led task force to address the spectrum of homelessness.
  • As a Support Worker, connect people to housing placements and supports, to mental health and addiction supports, and to clinical and treatment services, economic integration service (e.g. income assistance, employment, job training, education) and social and community integration services.
  • Update and maintain the email distribution list and contact information of members.
  • Prepare various reports, charts, surveys, memos, letters and other documents.
  • Edit publications and the format documents.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings and record minutes.
  • Develop action plans.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures for safeguarding and releasing of personal information with Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) regulations.

Qualifications:
